Summary

This release brings the Phase 1 work into one consistent state: the app, data, brand, documentation, source-review approach, and repository records now describe the same completed proof of concept.

Highlights

Discovery

Map and curated places

Interactive Leaflet and OpenStreetMap experience with 56 curated paddleboarding and kayaking launch records.

Search

Broader structured search

Search includes names, aliases, regions, water bodies, activities, amenities, taxonomy, tags, and descriptions.

Collections

Exact editorial shortlists

Five curated collections now filter by explicit place IDs and can be combined with search and other filters.

Details

Source-aware place information

Cards and responsive details include planning summaries, official links, source-review metadata, and verification notes.

Brand

Design System 2.0

The final Option B2 logo, typography, blue-green palette, and wayfinding icons are applied across the app and documentation.

Repository

Canonical data and validation

Place data, generated browser data, collection configuration, documentation, and lightweight checks are now synchronized.

Phase 1 closeout

Complete POC: Phase 1 proves the product experience and data direction. Continuing source checks, field verification, image replacement, and defect correction are maintenance work rather than unfinished Phase 1 features.

Not included

Live conditions

Weather, wind, tides, water temperature, water quality, and changing advisories are not integrated.

Personal accounts

Accounts, saved places, favorites, and personal trip notes are outside this release.

Community content

Ratings, reviews, user photos, and suggested edits remain future work.

AI recommendations

Natural-language recommendations and automated trip planning belong to a later phase.

Planning, not a safety guarantee: An official source link does not verify every field. Confirm current access, rules, fees, closures, weather, wind, tides, water quality, vessel traffic, and hazards before going.
